Designated Substances
Designated Substance Surveys are conducted in accordance with Ontario Regulation 278/05, as amended and Ontario Regulation 490/09 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Section 30 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act requires a Designated Substances Survey to include an assessment of the following potentially hazardous materials:
- Acrylonitrile
- Coke Oven Emissions
- Mercury
- Arsenic
- Ethylene Oxide
- Silica
- Asbestos
- Isocyanates
- Vinyl Chloride Monomer
- Benzene
- Lead
Peritus staff have experience identifying and collecting samples of the designated substances listed above. Additionally, Peritus can work with the client to define a scope of work which may include mould, polychlorinated biphenyl and other substances in building materials that may be hazardous to human health. Peritus will provide a report with recommendations for a qualified contractor to repair and/or remove any potentially hazardous material safely.
